Sherman High School's computer
department is ever expanding it's technological achievements.
The very webpage you are looking at was made and is updated by
students. We are also the only school in the county to have
computer assistants maintain the systems in the school.
One of our newest additions is Tide Live. Tide Live is a live
video feed that can be watched online. Originally it could be
accessed by 15 to 20 people at once, but recently , with the help of
CityNet, it has been upgraded and up to 100 that can watch it from
anywhere in the world. Although your own bandwidth dictates
how frames per second you see. If for some reason Tide Live is
not working, look under the address bar at the top of the page for a
thin yellow bar, right click on it and select "Run ActiveX Control".
At the moment that is all that will fit the budget but who knows
what the future might hold.
Here at Sherman we also have a Distance Learning Lab capable of
broadcasting to 16 schools at once. The lab is equipped with
50" plasma televisions and state of the art technology to ensure an
encouraging learning environment.
