Speech

Teacher: Mrs. Latorre
Speech class teaches students how to respond and conduct many different
types of speeches. Students participate in many different varieties as well.
Some of these types include; persuasive, informative, debates, formal, informal,
and how-to speeches. Informative speeches provide information based on the topic
that the speaker has chosen. Persuasive speeches are speeches which are meant to
persuade an audience in believing the same beliefs and opinions of the speaker.
Debates are a lot like persuasive speeches, but in this particular style of
speech there are two sides which try to persuade each other to agree to one
another's side. How-to speeches describe how to perform a specific task.
Directions or steps are usually provided by the speaker. These are the basic
fields of study the speech class will be involved in this year.
